Rebecca Scotti has worked extensively in oil painting, pen and ink, mixed medium, and performance; participating in exhibitions throughout Boston, Providence, New York, and Los Angeles.
With her works on paper and canvas, she explores surrealism and the human psyche, often embodying these ideas in the physicality of animals. She uses imagery of everyday objects to evoke personal nostalgia.
Rebecca is a 2006 graduate of the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University, and her interests and inspirations extend into taxidermy and existentialist literature.
Born into a family of artists, she has an inherent collector's nature and her work draws heavily on this deep-rooted desire to gather from and catalogue the world around her.
She is working toward the birth of a whimsical product line featuring her intricate drawings as well as blogging about life as a punk rock mommy.
Currently, she is focusing on highly detailed, large format abstractions and raising a kind and spirited human.
